The Claypool Lennon Delirium Shares Twisted Music Video For ‘Bubbles Burst’

first_imgChanneling the darker side of psychedelia, The Claypool Lennon Delirium today released their debut album, Monolith Of Phobos. Easily one of the best and most unique listens released this year, the project featuring Primus’s Les Claypool and Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger’s Sean Lennon delves deep into the realms of twisted storytelling, with perversions, addictions and more at the forefront.Inside The Claypool Lennon Delirium’s Darkly Psychedelic Debut, ‘Monolith Of Phobos’ [Full Stream]It’s no surprise that the music video for “Bubbles Burst” is just as twisted as the album, as the song is written about Michael Jackson’s pet chimpanzee, Bubbles. The video features warped caricatures of both Jackson and Bubbles, through the mind of Sean Lennon, who actually hung out at the Neverland Ranch with Jackson and Bubbles. Lennon even talks about meeting Michael Jackson and the chimpanzee. “I met Bubbles at Michael’s house. It felt like I was in Charlie And The Chocolate Factory or something going up to that house. There were Model-T Fords driving around and recreations of old streets. It just felt very surreal and fun. And I think I met [Bubbles] in an arcade. At least I say that in the song. There was a big arcade with video games and that’s where a lot of the people my age liked to hang out. I remember running into Bubbles there. And I’d say we became friends because I wanted to hang out with him a lot. It was just surreal.”Watch the video for “Bubbles Burst,” below, courtesy of the NPR premiere.last_img
