LDEA Arrests 4 ‘Drug Peddlers’

first_imgSuspects, John Mulbah, Abdu Duke, Sunday Echa and Magnus KollieThe Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) in Kakata, Margibi County, has arrested four persons in connection with illegal drug trafficking, prescription abuse and trading of other harmful substances into the country.The four persons arrested are John Mulbah, 48; Sunday Echa, 34; Abdu Duke, 60; and Magnus Kollie, 34. The suspects were arrested in Harbel and Kakata City between April 25 and 28, 2017.The Liberia News Agency quoting a copy of the LDEA charge sheet, said the above named suspects were arrested in the various communities, while reportedly selling the drugs.Suspect Magnus Kollie was arrested in Kakata when officers of the LDEA received a tipoff.Suspect Kollie was caught in possession of assorted medical items, which he had attempted administering to an ailing female patient in Kakata.The three other suspects were arrested with over 200,000 kilograms of marijuana and ‘Italian White’, having the street value of over a half million Liberian dollars.Meanwhile, LDEA Margibi Commander Ralph O. Gooding is warning residents to refrain from harboring any suspected drug traffickers in the county.Gooding said a lot of times when they receive tip offs about drug traffickers, they are often obstructed by residents which caused the suspects to escape arrest.He further warned that anyone caught harboring suspected drug peddlers will be arrested and equally charged as the suspect and forwarded to court for prosecution, in keeping with the laws of Liberia.In line with that, LDEA has charged all four suspects and forwarded them to the kakata Magisterial Court for prosecution.Share this:Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)last_img read more
