UFC VICE PRESIDENT SAYS JOSEPH DUFFY IS MORE IRISH THAN CONOR MCGREGOR

first_imgUFC vice-president Joe Carr has hit back at Conor McGregor’s claims that Joseph Duffy isn’t Irish by saying the Donegal fighter is more Irish than him! McGregor was speaking at a Q&A session with MMA fans yesterday when he said, ‘He’d love to KO Duffy stiff.’He made derogatory claims about Duffy’s Irish authenticity which angered a lot of Irish MMA fans. Duffy hasn’t responded to the remarks as of yet, but the pair will meet this weekend in Las Vegas. However, vice-president Carr says Duffy has more in common with the average Irish person than McGregor.Carr said, “Being of Irish decent and growing up in an Irish community, I feel like, when push comes to shove, the Irish people identify more with a personality type like Joe Duffy than they do with Conor McGregor.“Conor is larger than life, and he’s probably well more liked than hated, but deep down that strong, silent go-about-your-business is more of an Irish personality type, in my personal opinion.“And, I think the Irish people, and the Americans, can very much identify with that.”Duffy and McGregor will meet at the UFC GO BIG launch event which takes places at the MGM Grand Garden Arena tomorrow. The event is expected to draw a massive crowd and is FREE and open to the public. All the big UFC stars will be in attendance including Conor McGregor, Jose Aldo, Josh Barnett, Frankie Edgar, Justin Poirier and female UFC star Ronda Rousey at the meet and greet event. It’ll be interesting to see if there’s an exchange of words between the pair in Las Vegas tomorrow.UFC VICE PRESIDENT SAYS JOSEPH DUFFY IS MORE IRISH THAN CONOR MCGREGOR was last modified: September 4th, 2015 by Mark ForkerShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:newsSportlast_img read more
